August 26, 2019 – Day 29
Yesterday puppies were introduced to solids. I make a soft mush from ground kibble and warm water. It didn’t take long for the puppies to know what to do. They made quite a mess but all in all did a great job with their first meal. After, they were given water to drink for the first time and quickly learned to lap it up.

As puppies are introduced to solid they will continue to nurse. Mama gradually weans her babies.

Puppies were introduced to water for the first time yesterday. It took them awhile to catch on how to lap. In the evening, all the puppies knew how to drink from their water bowl. As they are weaned and have less milk intake they will increase water as their source of hydration
