Purchase Agreement / Health Warranty

Seller’s Responsibility:

1. The Seller guarantees the puppy is in good health, is up to date on immunizations appropriate for the puppy’s age, has had exemplary care and nutrition at the time the Buyer takes possession and has been worm checked. Seller does not warranty against environmental parasites. This warranty does not include improper bites, hernias or low-grade heart murmurs. This Health Warranty does not cover any condition that would be determined cosmetic. This Health Warranty also does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals or physical injury.

2. The Seller provides this Health Warranty for the stated puppy for two years after the puppy/dog’s date of birth and is inclusive of and limited to: debilitating hip, elbow, heart and hereditary eye and heart disease which impacts clinically on the puppy/dog’s quality of life. If the above stated puppy/dog is afflicted with any of these conditions, proof from a certified vet, must be submitted to the Seller at the Buyer’s expense with reference to puppy/dog’s physical description and microchip number. These results must be submitted within the allocated time of the Health Warranty.

3. Upon receipt of accredited proof (provided at Buyer’s expense) the stated puppy/dog being afflicted with any debilitating hip, elbow or hereditary eye or heart disease problems covered by this Health Warranty, or having succumb to a sudden death as a direct result of a condition covered under the Health Warranty the Buyer has a choice of a) refund of the purchase price, less the deposit, or b) a replacement puppy from the next available litter.

Buyer’s Responsibility:

1. The Buyer acknowledges that the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE

2. The Buyer agrees to take the puppy to a veterinarian for a wellness examination no later than 72 hours, or three business days, after departure from L.A. Doodles. NOTE: The 72 hour is in place allowing you to return your puppy if you or your vet feel it is in poor health. You can choose to forgo the 72 hour vet check . If you choose to forgo the vet check, you are agreeing that you have received a healthy puppy as our vet has stated. (This choice does not void our health warranty.) If the puppy refuses food and or water, acts overly anxious, lethargic or begins to vomit before seeing your vet for the wellness exam then L.A. Doodles should be contacted immediately, or the contract is deemed null and void and no reimbursement for any vet bills will be given. On occasion, separation anxiety can make a young pup ill and mimic the symptoms of various diseases. At the wellness exam, if the puppy is found to be in poor health the Buyer can return the puppy to the Seller (at the Buyer’s expense) for a full refund of the purchase price of the puppy, less the deposit. Seller does not warranty against environmental parasites, protozoa, viral illnesses or bacterial or viral infections. This warranty does not include improper bites, hernias or low-grade heart murmurs. This Health Warranty does not cover any condition that would be determined cosmetic. It does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals or physical injury. This warranty will not cover vet bills incurred by letting a pup get over stressed or dehydrated. No reimbursement will ever exceed the price of the pup less the deposit. The Buyer must inform the Seller of any such circumstances within 24 hours of a veterinary diagnosis. It is the responsibility of the Buyer, not the vet, to inform the Seller of any such circumstances. If the Buyer does not comply with these conditions, the Health Warranty is deemed null and void.

3. The Buyer agrees the stated puppy will be spayed/neutered after growth plates are closed (which could be anywhere from between 15 – 18 months of age. Proof of spay/neuter by a certified vet indicating the pup’s microchip number and description will be forwarded to L.A. Doodles. If this proof of spay/neuter is not provided the Health Warranty is null and void. Health guarantee will be null and void if spayed/neutered before 15 months of age. If the dog becomes pregnant or sires a litter the Health Warranty is null and void.

4. The Buyer agrees that the stated puppy will be housed indoors and will be fed only a premium quality well balanced Large Breed diet. Buyer agrees to keep the puppy at a healthy weight and to provide regular and any emergency veterinary care, regular vaccinations and to provide proper grooming and dental care.

5. The Buyer agrees to limit or postpone any strenuous or repetitive exercises or activities until puppy is 18 months of age. However, the Buyer is greatly encouraged to enroll and participate in, obedience classes with Puppy.

6. The Buyer agrees the Puppy/dog will NOT be surrendered by the Buyer to a “rescue” or a “humane society” or a “pound” or a family member or friend. The Buyer agrees that at any time in the puppy/dog’s life they are unable to continue to care for the puppy/dog in the agreed upon manner, the Buyer will contact L.A. Doodles FIRST and allow them the opportunity help find a new appropriate home. The Seller will always be available to help in this unfortunate kind of circumstance. 

7. If there is a sudden and/or unexplained death of above stated puppy/dog within the time of Warranty, the Buyer agrees to have an autopsy/necropsy performed by a Certified Veterinarian (at the Buyer’s expense) to determine the cause of death. Proof of these findings will be submitted to L.A. Doodles

This Warranty is non-transferrable. If a puppy/dog is sold, rehomed, euthanized or buried/cremated without proper proof/documentation of their condition being submitted to L.A. Doodles, the contract is deemed null and void.

NOTE: By submitting a deposit, both the Seller and the Buyer agrees to the terms and conditions outlined in the above stated Contract/Health Warranty.
